Assemblyman Rich Gordon (Menlo Park) and Senator Jerry Hill (San Mateo) will host a forum on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the new health care options on Saturday, October 5 at Mountain View City Hall.
California's new easy-to-use marketplace, known as Covered California, began enrollment on October 1. To help navigate this new system, Assemblyman Gordon and Senator Hill will convene various stakeholders to share information about new health coverage options and how to enroll in the plans.
“With the rollout of the ACA and Covered California, the public will undoubtedly have questions over new health care coverage options,” said Assemblyman Gordon. “Senator Hill and I encourage anyone seeking to lower the cost of their current health care coverage, researching higher-quality plans, or anyone who is currently uninsured, or was denied coverage due to a pre-existing condition, to attend this informational forum.”
“Rising costs and limited access to quality coverage are huge barriers for millions of Californians who lack adequate health care,” said Senator Hill. “This forum will provide information for individuals and families seeking to learn more about health care options under the ACA.”
Audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions of the panelists and ask individualized questions privately with a Covered California Certified Educator.
