San Mateo County Supervisor, Warren Slocum, has announced that he will hold “Office Hours” in local communities throughout his district. Slocum, who was elected as a San Mateo County Supervisor last November, represents District 4, which includes the communities of East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Redwood City and the unincorporated communities of North Fair Oaks and Stanford Weekend Acres.
According to his staff, Slocum will “take his office hours on the road and visit different venues, attend events, and occasionally convene community meetings to discuss an issue of community concern.”
Slocum will hold his first meeting, considered the opening night of “Office Hours’ in East Palo Alto on July 31, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Services Building at 2415 University Avenue.
East Palo Alto’s Mayor, Ruben Abrica, will join and welcome Slocum at the opening session.
“East Palo Alto and the County of San Mateo have a historic and important relationship,” said Mayor Abrica, “and we are fortunate to have Supervisor Slocum as an advocate for the people of East Palo Alto. I look forward to meeting with the residents and being a part of these conversations. East Palo Alto is a vibrant community of active leaders, creative and talented problem-solvers, and it has specific needs.”
Slocum said, “I am honored that Mayor Abrica will join me at office hours in the City of East Palo Alto. Mayor Abrica knows the fabric of this community like few others do; the City is fortunate to have such a strong, talented and dedicated leader at its helm.”
