A 21-year-old Menlo Park resident was shot while walking near Bell Street and Euclid Avenue in East Palo Alto. The shooting occured around 9:02 p.m. on Saturday, February 9.
The victim suffered from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his upper torso and was listed in stable condition.
The East Palo Alto Police became aware of the shooting when the police department received a call from a local emergency room hospital reporting that a gunshot victim arrived at the facility for treatment. East Palo Alto Police officers contacted the victim to investigate.
The shooting victim told the police that he heard approximately five gunshots and realized that he had been struck by the gunfire. A friend then transported the victim to the emergency room.
