East Palo Alto Police responded to a Shotspotter activation at the intersection of Runnymede Street and Euclid Avenue and found two adult Latino men suffering from gunshot wounds. The shooting occurred Sunday morning at 12:30 a.m.

After being treated at the scene by local firefighters, the two men were taken to a local hospital where one of them died and the other was listed in critical condition.

The dead man was identified as Jose Caballero-Diaz, a 21 year old who lived in Menlo Park.

While officers found several spent shell casings at the crime scene, they were not able to locate witnesses to the shootings.

The East Palo Alto Police Department is actively investigating the shootings and would like to encourage anyone with knowledge of this shooting incident or of any other crimes to contact the police by:
