Did you know there’s something you could do now that would only take two minutes that might renew someone’s belief in miracles, like being able to see their children grow up?
Thousands need a life-saving organ. There’s nothing you can do that would be more compassionate than becoming someone’s hero when the time comes.
So, seize the opportunity to register as an organ and tissue donor. It’s not only spring, but April is National Donate Life Month and it represents a time of renewal. Every month can be a time of renewal
For Hispanics in our communities, organ and tissue donations are especially vital. Right now, there are 22,000 people in California who are waiting for an organ transplants. More than 8,000 of those are Hispanics. Most of them are waiting for a kidney transplant. Each one of those people could wait 7-9 years for renewed health, simply because there are too few donors.
You’ll be happy to know that if you are Catholic or a member of some other faith group, that your religion is not a barrier to the idea of providing a gift of healing for others. All major religions, including the Catholic Church, wholeheartedly support organ and tissue donation.
If you would like to one day give a miracle to others, just go to www.ctdn.org and register. Or answer “Yes” when you are next at the DMV to renew your driver’s license. Make your donation decision, and be sure to share your wishes with your families and loved ones.
