April 2, 2009

On April 1, 2009 at approximately 1303 hours, a burglary occurred on the 2000 block of Pulgas Avenue. East Palo Alto Officers responded to the report of the residential burglary. The victim advised East Palo Alto Officers that her house had been broken into and someone had taken her flat screen television. A witness told the victim that she saw the suspects carry a flat screen television from the victim's house and put it in the garage at 2056 Pulgas Ave. The victim contacted one of the suspect's aunts at 2056 Pulgas Avenue, and the victim subsequently located and recovered the television from the garage. The suspect who resided at 2056 Pulgas Avenue was not at the time the television was recovered.

East Palo Alto Police Officers obtained descriptions of the suspects and canvassed the area with the intent to contact and arrest them for burglary. By thoroughly canvassing the area, East Palo Alto Police Officers were able to contact and arrest the suspects near the home that was burglarized. Items that were stolen from the victim’s home during the burglary were found in the possession of one of the suspects. The suspects were identified as juveniles, both of whom were East Palo Alto residents. Both juvenile suspects were later transported and booked into the San Mateo County Juvenile Facility.
